Prof. Dr. Sam Verboven is an Assistant Professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in the Department of Business Technology and Operations (BUTO). His research focuses on developing analytical tools and algorithms that turn prediction into action while accounting for operational context, domain expertise, and business requirements. Specifically, he works on causal machine learning and multi-task learning, with applications in healthcare, finance, and marketing. Outside of work and family time, Sam is usually found on a padel court or working on his puzzle book.
